Workers are increasingly demanding flexibility and Raka has made it an integral part of its company culture. “We believe that flexibility is one of the most valuable benefits an employer can offer. It allows our team to maintain a healthy work-life balance, reduces burnout, and promotes a culture of trust and autonomy,” Raka states in its application.

Remote work is a standard. Every employee receives a company laptop and all company resources are either cloud-based or securely accessible through a virtual private network. Raka also provides employees with $250 to enhance their home office setup.

Daily communication is facilitated through Slack and Zoom, where Raka maintains dedicated channels, including a “Kudos” channel for peer recognition, an “Outings” channel for sharing events and team activities, and the “Tears of the Sun” channel where team members share favorite hot sauces. There is even a Spotify list of team members’ favorite music.

Team members design schedules that work best for them as long as they maintain full-time hours and are available during the core business hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. While Raka has an “unlimited” paid time off policy, it does require team members to take a minimum of 12 days off per year. Raka also has Summer Fridays, giving employees an early start to their weekends during the warmer months.

Raka provides four weeks of paid bonding time for all new parents. Team members can bring their dogs and children to the office and it holds family-friendly events like pumpkin carving during Halloween and team barbecues. The firm also closes between Christmas and New Year’s, giving the team more time to recharge.
