Ledyard Bank strives to make life better for its employees. It even has a Make Life Better Idea page on its employee intranet site launched in 2024 where team members can submit ideas to improve both team member and client experiences.
The bank also has an anonymous electronic suggestion box to allow team members to voice their ideas and concerns. Based on employee feedback, Ledyard created a dedicated page where team members can access meeting recordings. CEO Josephine Moran holds breakfasts with groups of new hires and team members and conducts listening tours to gather input directly from her team.
Through its “You Make Life Better” program, Ledyard team members can recognize colleagues for their positive impact, with selected individuals publicly recognized and provided with a $100 gift card during the bank’s monthly meeting.
Employees recognized for exceptional performance receive a $500 bonus while bankers who maintain a perfect cash drawer can earn up to $540 annually. Team members can earn a $1,000 bonus for referring a successful job candidate and milestone anniversaries come with bonuses ranging from $500 at five years to $3,000 at 30 years.
In addition to 22 to 32 days of paid time off, Ledyard team members also receive paid time off for their birthdays and work anniversaries. Ledyard offers remote work, flexible hours, and compressed workweeks.
In addition to paid days off for new parents, Ledyard allows new parents to take additional unpaid leave to bond with their newborn or newly adopted child. Ledyard also offers resources and support for elder care, including access to counseling services and information on local elder care facilities.
