NFI North’s mission is to “Inspire and empower people to reach their full potential.” This includes the employee’s who are the foundation of the services they provide. According to employee survey measures, 97% of NFI employees say the company’s mission and purpose makes their job feel important.

NFI North offers robust benefits including a holistic wellness benefit for massage, yoga, and Pilates. It also provides employees with three weeks of vacation time in their first year, (with increases up to six weeks within nine years of employment), seven sick days, and 11 paid holidays. Most employees have a flexible schedule and can choose a four-day workweek or a remote-hybrid option if the position allows. Employees working 30 hours or more are eligible for benefits.

NFI North also invests in professional development. More than 60% of NFI’s leadership team have been promoted into their leadership roles. When NFI noticed a higher level of turnover between year two and year three of employment, it increased the frequency of its six-month leadership training program, allowing newer employees to become part of the vision for the organization’s future. Through the program, employees attend 12 training sessions designed to help them advance their leadership, managerial and supervisory skills. Additionally, NFI offers $2,500 in annual tuition reimbursement.

NFI North is invested in creating a culture of belonging. The company is implementing what it calls the “For All” approach designed to create a “high-trust workplace experience for everyone.”  In addition to a full day training to raise employee awareness of cultural differences, implicit bias and affirming practices that build a culture of belonging, NFI is creating focus groups, surveys, and stakeholder interviews to advance that culture.
