Yet Another Mass. Company Crosses the Border

Published Thursday Jun 13, 2013

HALO Maritime Defense Systems, a leading maritime security company, has relocated its corporate headquarters from Andover, Mass. to Puzzle Lane in Newton. The company moved into an 8,100-square-foot facility, bringing 10 jobs to the state, with plans to add more by the end of the year.

“It was a strategic decision to move to New Hampshire,” says company CEO Paul Jensen. “We wanted to attract talented employees and lower our long term costs–New Hampshire was the prefect fit.”

The company provides security barrier systems that protect government and commercial maritime assets. And the company attributes a close relationship with the University of New Hampshire as factoring into their decision to move, according to HALO President Brandon Gray. “Research and development out of the ocean marine program at UNH helped us innovate and validate ideas that helped attracted an R&D program with the U.S. Navy,” he said.

Michael Bergeron, business development manager for the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development, worked with HALO on its relocation.
