This Week's Spotlight: The NH Liquor Commission in Concord donated $37,500 to the NH Food Bank in Manchester, a program of Catholic Charities NH. The funds were collected from staff and customer donations at all 79 NH Liquor & Wine Outlets since July 2015. The commission will continue to collect donations of canned food at each store’s check-out areas.

The Penny Pitou and Milo Pike Foundation donated $25,000 to the Colonial Theater capital campaign, which aims to raise $2 million before the end of the year to renovate the former theater in downtown Laconia into a civic auditorium.  Penny Pitou, who presented the check, is president of Penny Pitou Travel in Laconia. The initiative is being led by the Belknap Economic Development Council. Boothby Therapy Services of Laconia purchased $100,000 in NH Community Development Investment Program Tax Credits to support the project.

Attorney Richard W. Head joined the environmental practice group of Rath, Young and Pignatelli P.C. in Concord. The firm also has offices in Nashua and Boston. He previously served as a partner at SL Environmental Law Group where he represented states, municipalities and water utilities in environmental contamination cases.

WTSN-AM, a Binnie Media radio station in Dover, is celebrating its 60th year of broadcasting on 1270 AM and added an FM signal broadcasting on 98.1 FM.

Families in Transition (FIT), a Manchester, Concord, and Dover-based homeless services provider, raised $68,000 at its second I AM ONE Fashion Extravaganza event in Manchester in November. Funds will be used toward programming at FIT’s Family Willows Substance Use Treatment Center, housing for homeless families, therapeutic services for homeless preschoolers, and for basic necessities for the organization’s participants.

North Branch Construction in Concord completed a new two-story bus terminal for Dartmouth Coach in Lebanon. The steel and wood-framed terminal, built on the site of a former auto dealership, includes offices for management on the second floor and an architectural steel clear story with post and beam trusses over the waiting room.

The Regional Economic Development Center of Southern NH in Raymond appointed Nancy Carmer, economic development program manager for the City of Portsmouth, to its board of directors.
