Published Friday Jan 22, 2016

For some, the morning commute is a time to catch up on the news and relax. For others it's a grueling fight through neverending traffic. To see how NH fares nationally, visit flowingdata.com and compare your county to the rest of the country.

According to a survey by Citi Cards, the average American commuter spends 45 minutes in their car and $10 a day on their daily trek to and from the office.

But if time is money, New Yorkers lose, doling out 73 minutes of their day on average, with 44 percent commuting for more than an hour. That's compared with Chicago (64 minutes), San Francisco (56 minutes) and Los Angeles (55 minutes).
