The Brook, which claims to be America’s largest charity casino, is collaborating with Kowloon restaurant to build an Asian dining concept and nightlife experience at its casino and entertainment center in Seabrook. It will feature multiple dining rooms, private event space, two bars, and a lounge. It is slated to open this summer.

Colliers, a commercial real estate services firm on Manchester, helped to facilitate the recent sublease of a 30,500-suare-feet of space at 300 Innovative Way in Nashua. The sublessor, Parallel Wireless, was represented by Bob Rohrer from Colliers’ and Ron and Matt Perry from Savills. The Sublessee, Rightworks, was represented by John Wilson from CBRE. Parallel Wireless decided to vacate this newly renovated, open plan office space after restructuring its company operations. Rightworks, a national IT company that specializes in serving accounting professionals, subleased this plug-and-play space to expand its footprint in NH. The company is currently located on Hampshire Drive in Hudson.Colliers also promoted Brad Abel to partner in its NH office. Abel has been with the company since 2003 and currently serves as the VP of Colliers’ NH Real Estate Management Services Division.

Brian Chalmers, VP, commercial loan officer, will retire from MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank) in May after 34 years of service. Chalmers joined MVSB in 1990 as the branch manager for MVSB’s newly opened Meredith Route 104 office and transitioned to oversee the Ashland office in 1991. He became the bank’s first business development officer in 1998. He eventually grew his one-man business development efforts into a larger team to cover MVSB’s expanding footprint, receiving a promotion to VP. In 2009, he brought his talents to MVSB’s Commercial Lending Department, finishing his career with the bank as VP, commercial loan officer.

Jennifer Griffith, an associate professor of organizational behavior and management and the Morrison Fellow of Diversity at the University of NH’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics, is one of 22 business school faculty honored by AACSB International (AACSB)—the world’s largest business education alliance—as the 2024 Class of Influential Leaders.

Northeast Delta Dental, a nonprofit  dental insurance provider based in Concord, promoted Jody Touzin to director, NH sales and account management, and named Tracy Gilman as director, government programs. Touzin previously served as senior account manager. Gilman previously served as regional director at DentaQuest as the contract manager for the MassHealth/Health Safety Net Dental Program.

Attorney Benjamin Siracusa Hillman, a partner at Shaheen & Gordon in Concord, was named a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). ACTEC is an organization of trust and estate lawyers who have been elected by their peers in recognition of having made outstanding contributions to the practice of trust and estate law.

A new pocket park honoring Exeter’s Black Revolutionary War soldiers, their families, and the community they lived in for over 100 years will be the site of a Black Heritage Trail of NH commemorative marker. The unveiling ceremony will be on May 4 at 10 a.m. This park will be located at 223 Water St. at the American flagpole, directly across from the American Independence Museum.

The M&T Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of M&T Bank in Manchester, awarded $30,000 to Webster House Children’s Home in Manchester. The grant is part of the 30 & 30 Initiative in which 30 organizations across the bank’s footprint received $30,000 to fight homelessness and develop affordable housing in low- to moderate-income communities. The 30 & 30 Initiative was launched in commemoration of the foundation’s 30th anniversary.

The Monadnock Food Co-op and Cheshire County Conservation District provided two grants totaling $21,400 from the 2024 Monadnock Food Co-op Farm Fund: Five Sigma Farm in Sullivan and Picadilly Farm in Winchester. Since starting in 2017, the Farm Fund has awarded over $193,400 in grants to 25 local farms

The Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Foundation in Dover received a $4,000 donation from the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Somersworth Aerie #1877, to support cancer patients at the Mass General Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglass. The money was raised in collaboration with Grandview Campground in Rochester and First Class Auto Body in Boston. Connie Matthews, a member of the Eagles recently completed her own cancer treatments at Wentworth-Douglass and was able to “ring the bell” – a tradition for all patients who have completed their treatment.

Alene Candles, a contract manufacturer of candles and home fragrance products, was recognized by Encova Insurance as a 2023 Safety Award recipient. The award was presented at Alene’s New Albany facility and commends safe operations in both Ohio and Milford, NH. Alene Candles was recognized by Encova for its commitment to controlling and reducing losses and exposures, actively working safety and loss control service strategies to achieve measurable elements of the Roadmap to Safety Success, and implementing recommendations to reduce exposure.
