Mahesh Bhatia was appointed CFO of the YMCA of Greater Nashua. Bhatia, who has over 30 years of financial experience, previously offered part-time and interim CFO/controller consultation services to companies in NH and Massachusetts. In addition to his role as a CFO, he will work as the staff liaison to the finance, audit and investment committees of the organization's board of directors.

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield committed a $15,000 sponsorship to the Farnum Center’s fourth annual Spirit of Hope event, which will be held in May at Manchester Country Club in Bedford. Farnum, a program of Easterseals NH, operates treatment and recovery facilities in Manchester and Franklin.

DuBois & King hired Zachary Zavalianos as a bridge engineer in the firm’s Laconia office. He is a structural engineer with five years of experience, previously working on bridge and rail projects for transportation departments in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine.

Families in Transition (FIT) in Manchester received a $12,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation to help fund the FIT Job Connections Program. The initiative aims to help self-selected FIT residents develop and utilize job and life management skills to achieve personal stability.

New Hampshire Association for the Blind in Concord changed its name to Future in Sight. In 2016, the nonprofit assisted 1,100 individuals in NH and another 125 from outside the Granite State who are blind and visually impaired, helping them develop skills for independent living.

Jewett Construction Company in Raymond will begin a construction project at Herb Chambers Toyota of Auburn in Massachusetts, building an 11,000-sq. ft. addition and renovating the existing 34,000-sq. ft. facility. This is Jewett Construction’s ninth project with Herb Chambers Companies.

ReVision Energy in Brentwood installed two ground-mounted solar arrays at Sant Bani School in Sanbornton, an independent K-8 school. The 55.1-kilowatt grid-tied system, owned by ReViwion Energy, consists of 208 solar panels and will generate approximately 77,410 kilowatt hours of electricity per year.

St. Joseph Hospital OB/GYN in Merrimack hired Heather L. Arel as a nurse practitioner. Arel, who previously worked in the Monadnock region for over 20 years, has been an adjunct assistant professor in obstetrics and gynecology at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine in Hanover since 1999.

Team O’Neil Rally School in Dalton partnered with ISC Suspension in Gilford to launch a class on drifting, a motorsport technique. The course costs $400 and will be held in April at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.

Tuscan Kitchen, a restaurant chain with locations in Salem and Massachusetts, opened its third location in Portsmouth. The 16,000-sq. ft. restaurant includes a 75-seat patio and an adjacent Tuscan Market, which will open in June.
