This Week's Spotlight: The Provident Bank donated $5,000 to Families First Health and Support Center in Portsmouth. The donation will be used to provide oral health education, screenings and cleanings to students at Seabrook Elementary Schools and Seacoast Head Start in Hampton. Families First also received a $10,000 grant from The DentaQuest Foundation in Massachusetts to purchase a second digital x-ray sensor for their Dental Center in Portsmouth.

Emeran Langmaid, owner of A&E Coffee & Tea in Amherst, and Clare Mulrey, community relations director, will be part of an international panel of judges at the Te Van a Conocer Compa coffee competition in Honduras this month. The competition is held annually by La Cooperativa Capucas Limitada (COCAFCAL), an association of 70 farming families in Honduras.

John Chagnon of Ambit Engineering, Inc. in Portsmouth received the NH Certified Septic System Evaluator designation from the Granite State Designers & Installers Association in Concord.

Baker Newman Noyes (BNN), an accounting and consulting firm with offices in Manchester and Portsmouth, promoted Rebecca Acorn, Michael Casale, Shaun Cote and Kevin Pelletier to supervising seniors in the tax practice and Emily Antonico to manager in the risk and business advisory practice. The firm also hired Jim Moran as a senior manager in the tax practice. They will all work in the Manchester office.

Dermatology and Skin Health in Dover hired Alissa T. Lamoureux, who will start her practice April 1st. Lamoureux was most recently in residency at the Wellington Regional Medical Center and Broward Health Medical Center, both in Florida.

Oxford Networks, a Maine-based IT solutions provider, donated $500 to Haven in Portsmouth, a nonprofit that focuses on violence prevention and improving the well-being of children and families.

International Cars, Ltd. (ICL), an employee-owned auto dealerships located in Southern NH and Massachusetts, hired Robert Carozzi as interim GM of Audi Stratham. Carozzi has 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, most recently working at IRA Motor Group for seven years.

Joseph Reilly, NH regional president of Eastern Bank in Bedford,is the honorary chair of the Share the Music Gala, presented by the Manchester Community Music School in Manchester.

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord promoted Kimberley Duncan from education coordinator to education director, a new position at the Center. Kursla Robinson replaced Duncan as education coordinator.

Metro Walls and Exterior Designs Inc. in Manchester hired Nathan LaBonte as director of safety. LaBonte was previously a partner at Peter E. LaBonte & Sons in Gilford.

Students at the North Hampton School, in conjunction with Foss Manufacturing in Hampton, placed first in the 2nd annual “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” video contest and received $1,000 for their school. The contest, sponsored by the NH Division of Economic Development and the New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership in Concord, pairs middle school students with local manufacturers to create informative videos about the company.  Kingswood Regional Middle School students, working with Calico Graphics in Wolfeboro, placed second and received $500 for their school, while Londonderry Middle School, collaborating with Stonyfield Organics in Londonderry, placed third and received $250 for their school.

Ann Vennard, membership and community relations manager at NH Made in Epping, left the company to work at the Cornerstone Visiting Nurse Association in Rochester as assistant director of advancement. NH Made promotes awareness and demand for products and services sourced in the state. Their board of trustees is currently searching to hire a replacement.

Northeast Delta Dental in Concord acquired PreViser Corporation in Washington, which invented an online software tool that helps oral health professionals measure patient risk for oral disease. The acquisition was made through Red Tree Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Northeast Delta Dental.

Saigon Asian Market in Manchester relocated from South Maple Street to an 11,000 sq. ft. market at 476 Union Street.

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in Manchester is partnering with Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Massachusetts to help create an MBA in Engineering Management, SNHU’s first engineering degree program. Concentration courses for the program will be developed and taught by WPI faculty for SNHU.

People’s United Bank, with NH headquarters in Manchester, donated $3,500 to Special Olympics New Hampshire in Manchester to help fund its Young Athletes Program. The program introduces sports to children ages two to seven with intellectual disabilities ages 2-7, prior to Special Olympics eligibility for competition at age eight.
