This week’s spotlight: Eight NH Companies received a total of $77,865 to train 235 workers through the NH Job Training grant program in December 2015: Symmetry Medical Manufacturing in Manchester, Wire Belt Company of America in Londonderry, Knott’s Land Care LLC in Amherst, Neoscope LLC in Portsmouth, High Liner Foods in Portsmouth, TestVonics in Peterborough, Extrusion Alternatives Inc. in Portsmouth and Bigelow and Ashton PA in Wolfeboro.

The NH Campaign for Legal Services in Concord named Wilfred  “Jack” Sanders Jr., of counsel with Pierce Atwood LLP in Portsmouth, as chairman of the 2016 Campaign Leadership Council, a joint fundraising effort of NH Legal Assistance and the Legal Advice and Referral Center.

The NH High Tech Council in Manchester selected Eversound in Manchester and ValChoice in Bedford to present at the next Entrepreneur Forum in February. Eversound provides wireless headphone technology to help older adults engage in group events and ValChoice helps consumers understand insurance products.

MSI Mechanical Systems in Salem received a merit award from Associated Builders and Contractors in NH and Vermont for its design and build of an HVAC system at the Tuscan Kitchen in Burlington, Mass.

LaClair, Guilbeault & Associates in Plymouth hired Scott Stephens to expand its business development efforts. Stephens previously served as executive director of the Central NH Chamber of Commerce and works with NH Small Business Development Center clients in Grafton County.

The State Liquor & Wine Outlet Stores donated 500 new toys to Toys for Tots and $9,000 to the NH Food Bank in Manchester over the holidays. The toys and money were donated by customers and collected in its stores.

Catholic Charities in Manchester hired Karen Moynihan as senior donor relations officer. Moynihan previously worked as senior director of philanthropy for the Animal Rescue League of NH in Bedford.

Sprague Operating Resources LLC in Portsmouth, one of the largest independent suppliers of energy and materials handling services in the Northeast, hired Marc Dorsey and Nick Briscoe to the refined products sales team.
