Vigilant Woodworks, a manufacturer of fine cabinetry and woodwork in Dover, was selected to design and build interior displays and shelving units for the new home of Washington D.C.'s oldest tobacco shop. The W. Curtis Draper Tobacconist shop is located next to the White House gift shop and features Vigilant Woodworks' mahogany millwork and cigar display cases.

Monadnock United Way in Keene named Rob Harris and John Round to its board of directors. Harris is the former VP and general manager of a business unit for AT&T International and a business and engineering professor at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. He currently serves on the Marlborough zoning board and teaches at the Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning at Keene State College in Keene. Round currently serves as VP of administration at IPG Employee Benefits in Keene and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. He also is serves on the Monadnock Region board of advisors for the NH Charitable Foundation and most recently served on the Monadnock United Way as a three-year member of its Allocations Committee.

Franklin Savings Bank and Georgetown Savings Bank, based in northern Mass., closed on a $5.25 million development loan to Germania Front, LLC, a joint venture partnership between Alta Properties of Newton, Mass., and Roedel Companies of Wilton. The loan helped finance the renovation of the former Clarion Hotel in Manchester to The Falls Center and La Quinta Inn and Suites, which was designed as a sister property to Roedel's Hilton Garden Inn and opened to the public in March. An 11,000-square-foot restaurant and conference center is still being finalized. The Manchester Development Corporation also provided a $500,000 development loan to Germania Front, LLC for the project.

Rosemary Richardson was promoted to branch manager at The Business Center of Merrimack Country Savings Bank, based in Concord. Richardson joined the bank in 2006 as a customer service representative and moved to the Business Center in 2008 as assistant branch manager. Michael J. Hardiman was promoted by the bank to teller supervisor. Hardiman has served as a teller with the bank since 1997.

Newport Computer Services in Rochester appointed Anton J. Glovsky as director of business development. Glovsky has more than 20 years of experience developing strategic marketing campaigns and successfully helping businesses grow in a range of industries. In his new role, Glovsky will expand Newport's presence throughout New England.

NH Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR) announced the finalists for the 2012 Cornerstone Award: ReVision Energy in Exeter, Sequoya Technologies Group in Peterborough, and Amanda Grappone-Osmer, COO of the Grappone Group in Bow. The Cornerstone Award is given to an individual, business, or organization that exemplifies the concepts of corporate social responsibility and promotes these concepts to the greater business community within NH. The award will be presented at NHBSR's annual spring conference, held in May.

CCS New England, an audio visual systems integrator in Nashua, completed its recent project with the Nashua location of Seaboard International Forest Products. CCS designed and installed innovative audio visual solutions on Seaboard's trading floor, including two video walls with LCD displays and two LCD displays in the center of the room that show satellite TV and internet-based information of the global commodity markets, and the Crestron Digital Media system, which allows the company to send media and information directly to the displays.

Human Resource Partners in Dover hired Angela Closson as a human resources specialist. Closson has more than 13 years of experience as a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration.

The Child Advocacy Center of Hillsborough County, a program of the Granite State Children's Alliance, raised a record-breaking $250,000 at its annual gala, Springtime in Paris. The Robert and Karin Finlay Foundation Service to Children Award was presented to Stephen Langan, a board member of the Granite State Children's Alliance. The leading sponsors of the event included Robert and Karin Finlay of Peterborough, Mark and Julie LeDoux of Hollis, Nixon Peabody, LLP of Manchester, and Spectrum Marketing Companies of Manchester.

Alison M. Minutelli and Michael J. Tierney were named members of the firm of Wadleigh, Starr & Peters, PLLC in Manchester. Attorney Minutelli focuses her practice in the field of school law.
