NHTI Offers Drone Training

NHTI , Concord’s Community College’s Business Training Center, has added Drone Education Training to its course offerings. The course is offered through a partnership with SkyOp, a tech firm that teaches how to fly and use drones safely, legally, and productively.

Unmanned aircraft-like drones have become essential for governmental and private businesses “from examining properties for real estate and insurance purposes to checking on crops, drone features are proving to be extremely beneficial in places where man cannot reach or is unable to perform in a timely and efficient manner,” reported Business Insider.

Kathy Taylor, director of Workforce Development and Community Education, said, “Drones are a potential future of technological business savvy, helping to improve accuracy, resolve security issues, and even effect productivity for many businesses across the state. We believe these courses will train the next generation of drone experts today.”

Drones can be used in aerial photography for journalism and film, express shipping and delivery, gathering information for disaster management, thermal sensor drones for search and rescue, geographic mapping, building safety inspections, precision crop monitoring, unmanned cargo transport, law enforcement surveillance and storm tracking.

Registration is open and classes include:

  • Using Drones for Public Safety
  • Part 107 Test Prep (preparation for the FAA remote pilot test)
  • Drone Photo and Video Production
  • Introduction to Drones for Commercial Users
  • Introduction to Pix4D
