NH Liquor Commission On a Roll

Published Friday Aug 16, 2013

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) had its best sales year ever in fiscal year 2013, generating $603.5 million in total sales, an increase of $38.9 million – or 6.9 percent over the previous fiscal year. Total liquor revenues reached $145.6 million, which are used to fund programs including education, health and social services, transportation and natural resource protection through NH’s General Fund.

Since the first NH Liquor & Wine Outlet opened in 1934, liquor and wine sales have generated $2.4 billion for the state. NHLC is expecting to net an additional $1 billion for the state’s general fund in the next eight years.

“These record sales figures can be directly attributed to the strategic relocation and renovation of 13 NH Liquor & Wine Outlets, innovative promotional campaigns, aggressive sales efforts and enhanced customer service practices implemented over the past year,” said NHLC Chairman Joseph W. Mollica. “Promotional campaigns like the In the Mix Kitchen Series at our Nashua Liquor & Wine Outlet are introducing consumers to a variety of new products and influencing new purchases through weekly food and wine pairings. We are interacting with new customers in creative ways through our Summer Fun Tour, a statewide experiential marketing campaign sponsored by Bacardi, that encourages residents and out of state visitors to shop at New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets and win a number of great prizes.”

According to the unaudited FY 2013 report, the top 10 performing NH Liquor & Wine Outlets by gross sales are:
