A brand new Mr. Mac’s Macaroni and Cheese opened at 2600 Lafayette Road in Portsmouth, bringing roughly 40 new jobs to the area.
The Mr. Mac’s concept was created by brother and sister team Patrick Cain and Valerie Anderson in 2010 in Manchester. Shortly after announcing franchise opportunities, Harry Cheema joined the Mr. Mac’s team as the first franchisee. The Portsmouth location is the first of three Mr. Mac’s new locations that Cheema will open.
Mr. Mac’s features some 21 signature mac and cheese recipes. Guests may also create their own unique mac and cheese by choosing from a large variety of cheeses, veggies, meats, and specialty sauces and seasonings.
It has won numerous awards including Tripadvisor certificates of excellence in 2014, 2015 and 2016; and the best mac and cheese by The Hippo in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
