When we started the business back in February of 2007 we weren't completely sure how NH would embrace gourmet popcorn, so to save expenses we used space in our basement to set up a popcorn kitchen, says Michele Holbrook, one of the owners. Thanks to loyal customers and some creative flavor options, we are headed for more spaceand my husband gets his man cave back.
Keeping overhead low is one of the reasons that Michele and Dave Holbrook say they have kept the company afloat during the tough economy of the past few years. But the company is growing. Our gourmet popcorn has been very well received and our gross sales have increased double digits every year since we started, says Michele.
Ever the adventurous types, having driven their popcorn cross country to Las Vegas last year for inclusion in the 2010 Daytime Emmy Award swag bags, they are now embarking on a new adventure.
Slated to open in mid-summer is a new commercial manufacturing facility and retail outlet. Their plan for the future is to make this facility a destination; a place where not only residents of NH, but visitors to the state, can pop in during A NH visit.
