Manchester Energy Seminar to Use Only Green Power

The 2008 New Hampshire Energy Seminar, planned for next Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Center of New Hampshire in Manchester, has earned a Renewable Energy Certificate for supporting renewable energy sources through green purchases.The seminar, presented by the Business and Industry Association, is expected to use 276 kilowatt hours of electricity. Hess Corporation, a major sponsor of the event, has purchased the equivalent kilowatt hours in renewable energy sources to offset use at the event.

The seminar, which includes continental breakfast and lunch, will provide a variety of programs focusing on New Hampshire's volatile energy market, regional transmission issues, cost containment, conservation, and new and proposed funding sources for energy efficiency projects.

Featured Speakers include U.S. Senator-elect Jeanne Shaheen; Tom Burack, NH Department of Environmental Services Commissioner; and Tom Getz, NH Public Utilities Commission chairman.

The cost to attend is $60 for BIA and Capitol Connect members and $75 for non-members.
