Manchester CEOs Go All Freaky Friday Today

Published Monday Jul 16, 2012

Griffin York & Krause (GY&K), a full-service marketing firm in Manchester, announced the launch of the Exec Exchange, a unique knowledge-sharing program that provides corporate leaders the opportunity to trade positions for one day. For the inaugural Exec Exchange, Travis York, president of GY&K, will swap roles with Jeremy Hitchcock, CEO of Dyn, also headquartered in Manchester, today. The two will lead each other's companies; each is tasked with a specific list of challenges. At the end of the day, employees from both companies will come together for a Q&A and after-party where the Execs will share what they've learned.

While both York and Hitchcock hail from different backgrounds and represent different industries, they have collaborated in various capacities over the years and acknowledge the relevance of technology in marketing and, conversely, the marketing behind technology.

GY&K's use of technology, which is critical in today's marketing landscape, and Dyn's creative approach to marketing make this exchange a great learning opportunity for everyone involved, said York, who also spent many years focused on technology-driven marketing prior to leading the development of an in-house digital offering at GY&K. I have admired Jeremy as he has grown into the CEO that he is today, and I have often wondered what it would be like to be in his position.

My first impression of Travis was similar to the role of Christian Bale's character from the movie The Prestige,' a smart person who is confident in himself and his work, said Hitchcock. Similar to The Prestige,' I'm looking forward to Travis bringing his perceptivity to Dyn, which is different from how I think all about substance and how things come together. The day is all about sharing in each other's magic and pulling back the curtain on collaboration to showcase New Hampshire as a business hub.

Both leaders have posted on their respective company blogs and challenged each other with specific items to address. They also have invited clients, colleagues and others to participate during the day on Twitter by using the hashtag #ExecExchange.
