The World Affairs Council of NH (WACNH) is accepting nominations for its inaugural NH International Business Woman of the Year Award.

Nominations are due to the Council by Feb. 23 and the winner will be announced on March 8 in honor of International Women’s Day.

International business plays a large role in the NH economy, with businesses exporting to more than 180 countries around the world. Those businesses exported a total of $5.5 billion worth of goods, with another $6.93 billion imported to the state.

Presented in partnership with Business NH Magazine, the Center for Women and Enterprise, the NH Office of International Commerce, and Firebrand International, this award is designed to recognize the important contributions women have made to this field. From CEOs driving international connections, to project directors bringing new value to the market, the impact is undeniable.

“While clear that women lead businesses are valued here in the state, they still lack recognition when it comes to their contributions to the internationalization of New Hampshire,” says Tim Horgan, WACNH executive director. “This award looks to not only recognize the winner each year, but to provide role models for young women in the state to consider a career path they may not have seen themselves in before.”

Nominees will be judged according to the following criteria:

  • Holding a significant role in an international business;
  • Working in an office location in NH (does not have to be the headquarters);
  • Making a unique contribution to the international business sector;
  • Consideration of Corporate Social Responsibility efforts (to include Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts, Environmental responsibility, connections to community, etc.);
  • Overall Community Impact.

To submit a nomination for this award, send the following items to the World Affairs Council of NH by Feb. 23:

  • Nomination letter outlining the success and accomplishments of the nominee covering the period from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2021 (No more than 750 words);
  • Resume, CV, or summary of nominee’s career and community involvement;
  • Supporting documents, websites, social media handles, etc.;
  • Any other materials to support the nominee’s qualifications for the award.
