Great Opportunity for a Young Entrepreneur

Published Thursday Feb 17, 2011

The Entrepreneurs Foundation of New Hampshire (EFNH) will award one scholarship to a New Hampshire entrepreneur age 30 and under to attend the Nantucket Conference June 9-11, 2011. The Nantucket Conference brings together many of the top tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and angel investors from across the country for an intimate three-day dialogue. The agenda is built around visionary entrepreneurs and promising up-and-comers. Attendance is by invitation only.

This year's conversation will be led by well-known business leaders including Akamai CEO Paul Sagan, Stonyfield Farms founder Gary Hirshberg, Netezza founder Jit Saxena, and LogMeIn CEO Michael Simon. Topics will include: the pros and cons of taking a company public versus being acquired; leveraging social media to create a stronger bond with your company's customers; and developing game-changing ideas within large companies.

Interested young entrepreneurs may apply by sending a one-page cover letter to info@nhhtc.org, with "Nantucket Conference" in the subject line. The cover letter should include the entrepreneur's name, company, physical address, date of birth, contact information, and a brief statement of why the entrepreneur would like to attend the conference. EFNH members will contact applicants for a phone interview and make the final selection. The selected entrepreneur will be responsible for his or her own transportation and hotel costs in Nantucket. EFNH will pay the program fee. The deadline for applications is Monday, March 21 and the scholarship will be awarded by Friday, April 15.

Matt Pierson, chairman of EFNH, says, "Our goal is to inspire a young entrepreneur and help build his or her professional network. The Nantucket Conference provides the opportunity to rub elbows with the movers and shakers within our innovation driven economy."

The Entrepreneurs Foundation of New Hampshire is an initiative of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. The mission of EFNH is to ensure New Hampshire's quality of life by harvesting the energy and resources of entrepreneurs, making philanthropy part of the DNA of being a New Hampshire business person.
