After returning to her storytelling roots by sharing empowering stories for women under her Smart, Strong, Sassy (S3) brand, former WMUR TV reporter Tiffany Eddy is partnering with a Manchester company to market a line of beauty products.

Eddy, who also runs her own PR/Media firm, Tiffany Eddy and Associates, says she started S3 three years ago as a collective, interviewing women about their lives, their achievements, the lessons they learned and what advice they could share.

As a journalist, she understood the power stories have to change lives. After sharing the story of a woman who stood up to an abusive husband, years later, she was approached by a waitress who told Eddy that story gave her the courage to leave an abuser and she thanked Eddy for saving her life.

That same message of empowerment is woven into the videos developed for S3, and it is what inspired the beauty-product partnership, says Eddy. “I was approached by a local company that loved the message of empowerment and the idea of women helping women,” says Eddy. “When a woman feels good about herself and feels beautiful, she is empowered.”

The first product launched is amino molecular repair, a leave-in hair treatment. It is available in more than 100 salons across the U.S. Eddy says hair mask, shampoo and conditioner will be available in June. All of the models in S3’s product promotion, including Eddy’s daughter, are not professional models. Meanwhile, the videos continue on the S3 site and YouTube channel. The most recent S3 video features a woman who is on the autism spectrum and had been bullied. “She wanted to talk about why she is smart, strong, sassy,” says Eddy. “It just makes you feel great to know that what you’re doing is having a positive impact on someone else.”

Eddy plans to offer S3 retreats for women who want to develop new skills or have new empowering experiences, such as wine tasting, golf, poker or ax-throwing.
