Cheshire County Annual Climate Change Meeting

Published Wednesday Nov 12, 2008

Are you interested in learning how climate change will affect local farms? Dr. Vern Grubinger of the University of Vermont Extension will be speaking on this topic at the Cheshire County Conservation District's 2008 annual meeting in Keene. Grubinger is the director of the USDA's Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program and the Vegetable and Berry Specialist for UVM Extension. The community is invited to join the Conservation District in exploring how changes in climate may cause changes on the farm and what is being done to prepare for climate changes.

After the presentation, the Conservation District will celebrate the success of 2008 and present the Cooperator of the Year award to Siegfried Richter of Spofford.

The CCCD annual meeting will be held on Wednesday December 3rd at Stonewall Farm in Keene. Registration and an hors d'oeuvres buffet will begin at 5:30 p.m. RSVP before December 1 by contacting the Cheshire County Conservation District at 603-756-2988 ext.116 or email amanda.costello@nh.nacdnet.net. The cost is $5.
