November 13 -  The 2009 Health Care Summit will focus on National Health Care Legislation and You. The event will take place November 13 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Radisson in Manchester. Speakers include Dr. James Squires, president of  the NH Endowment for Health; Steve Norton, executive director of the NH Center for Public Policy Studies; and Ned Helms from The Citizens Health Initiative. There will also be a lively panel discussion including a representative from Hardvard Pilgrim, the AARP, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, BAE Systems and Dynamic Network Services. November 17 - The Concord law firm, Orr & Reno, will present the first in its Legal Breakfast Series covering "Developments in the Non-Profit Arena." The discussion will cover the new IRS form 990 and a practical and mission-based approach to assessing and managing mergers, reorganizations and dissolutions. The program presenters are Attorneys Todd C. Fahey, Connie Boyles Lane and John M. Zaremba.

November 17 and December 8 The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce will present a two-part breakfast series, "Social Media Crash Course for Business" on Tuesday, November 17, and Tuesday, December 8. The breakfast forums will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Rochester Elks Lodge in Rochester. Allen Voivod of Epiphanies, Inc. will discuss how businesses can begin using social media, the four elements of a social media starter kit, and how to leverage time and effort on social media. There will be ample time for discussion and questions. The cost for chamber members is $20 per session or $30 for both. Non-chamber members must pay $30 per session or $50 for both. November 18 The Nashua Chamber will host its 81st Annual Dinner & Citizen of the Year Presentation on Wednesday, November 18, from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Members are asked to bring their poker face as the Crowne Plaza Ballroom is transformed into a casino for our Vegas themed event. This year's event will feature Casino games, such as Black Jack, Texas Hold'em, Craps and Roulette, Vegas style music and entertainment, and prizes for the night's big winners. November 18 Southern New Hampshire University's School of Business Speakers Series will host organizational and management consultant Peter Cooke's presentation "Creating Advantage through Values-Based Culture Building." Cooke will discuss moral awareness, defining values and how those values affect the decision process. The event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. in Webster Hall's Mara Auditorium on the Manchester campus. The event is free and open to the public. Cooke Associates helps companies link their shared ethical values to decision-making, leadership, team effectiveness and strategic planning. The Speakers Series was created to give students exposure to how business professionals can give back to their communities and how they can contribute to corporate social responsibility through values-based decision making within the company, socially-responsible investing and community service.

November 19 The UNH CEO Forum returns with an exciting speaker and an opportunity to network with business and industry peers in a casual setting. Each meeting begins with networking, includes a full breakfast and features a presentation by a corporate leader on a topic of current interest to members. This next meeting runs from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the New England Center in Durham. The featured speaker is Bryce Blair, CEO and chairman of the board of AvalonBay Communities, Inc., a multi-family real estate investment trust, headquartered in Alexandria, VA.
