BNH Announces Rising Stars Awards!

Thad Guldbrandsen, director of the Center for Rural Partnerships at Plymouth State University in Plymouth is the 2011 recipient of the Young Professional of the Year award. This award honors an outstanding professional, age 40 or younger, who is a rising star in their industry, and who has demonstrated leadership and a commitment to giving back to the community.

To spotlight the critical mission of keeping young professionals in the Granite State, Business NH Magazine partners with Stay Work Play New Hampshire, young professional organizations statewide and the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development in Concord to host the Rising Star competition. Awards recognize recognizes exceptional young professionals, initiatives to keep them here, and the businesses that go the extra mile to recruit and retain them. Honorees are highlighted in the November issue of Business NH Magazine and feted at a Big Bash in Concord.

In addition to Young Professional of the Year winner, Rising Star awards will be given to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua for being named the Coolest Large Company for Young Professionals; PixelMEDIA in Portsmouth for being named the Coolest Mid-Sized Company for Young Professionals; and H.E. Bergeron Engineers Inc. in North Conway, the Coolest Small Company for Young Professionals. The Manchester Young Professionals Network's Start Up Challenge will receive the Young Professional Program of the Year, and Fidelity Investments in Merrimack will receive the Stay Work Play NH Leadership award.

Award winners were chosen from an array of impressive applications from across the state, underscoring what many already know: NH has many remarkable young leaders who will move our state forward for years to come.

Business NH Magazine will host a Rising Stars Big Bash Awards Party on November 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord. The event is sponsored by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Public Service of New Hampshire, the University of NH Whittemore School of Business and Economics, Fidelity Investments and BAE Systems.
