This tech company takes a commitment to improvement to a new level, holding an annual “Hackathon” competition where employees join teams to work on ideas for hacks that will improve the lives of the people who work there. The winning hacks are fully funded by Blue Mantis, and there is no limit to the creative ideas for the hacks, whether they are related to improving the company, or self-improvement and wellness. Winning hacks have included building back-end automation for the Blue Mantis onboarding process and a monthly focus group for healthy eating and movement.

This is a company that rewards excellence, including employees voting on the best team of the quarter and the winning team receiving $2,500, and managers voting for employee of the month and naming “Rock Stars” in the help desk division with winners receiving a $50 gift card. It also gives nine annual awards, including the Craig Mullen Memorial Award given to the individual who “best exemplifies selfless, humble and committed service in every interaction with clients and colleagues.” The winner receives a trip.

Employees can choose to work remotely or a hybrid schedule and receive 17 to 26 days of paid time-off, 10 paid holidays, eight hours of paid community service annually and six weeks of paid parental leave. When they are in the office, they can enjoy a golf green, basketball hoop and giant Connect Four game.

Other perks include $500 to $5,000 bonuses for referring a new employee, $5,000 in annual tuition reimbursement and the company paying 90% of health insurance premiums for employees and 85% for family plans.
