HEB offers a discretionary profit-sharing program for all employees, including interns and part-time personnel, based on the company’s performance. Its also aligned with individual achievements; people receive up to 21% of their salary.
Through HEB’s “Employees Supporting Our Peers” program, employees nominate their peers who have demonstrated exceptional performance and the winners, as well as the person who nominated them, receive a $500 gift card.
To honor work-life balance, HEB offers employees the opportunity to work fewer days within a 40-hour work week. And the company’s parental leave policy extends to part-time employees as well. Eligible employees can take up to 12 weeks of unpaid parental leave.
HEB also holds a “Summer Shindig” featuring ATVing, golfing, and ziplining, as well as holiday parties with family-friendly activities and games.
HEB shows that it’s committed to clear minds through group yoga sessions and monthly wellness challenges, where employees can win gift certificates for participating.
For those who seek volunteer opportunities, HEB has them covered. The HEB Cares Program is an initiative designed to foster a spirit of community involvement and social responsibility. This program provides a platform for staff to volunteer their time and expertise to various nonprofit organizations. In 2023, HEB’s team dedicated over 320 hours to supporting more than 43 different organizations.
HEB is committed to giving 2.5% of its net profit before profit sharing and taxes, up to $10,000, to a worthy cause at the end of the year.
