40 Influential Leaders - Ken Sheldon

Ken Sheldon
NH Market President for Bank of America

Having recently celebrated 30 years with Bank of America, Ken Sheldon says he didn’t set out to become a banker. But he did have his eye on the corner office and now finds his work to be highly satisfying, intriguing, and interesting.

“We have vast resources at Bank of America that can do a lot of things for people,” says Sheldon, NH market president. “Nothing feels better than helping somebody meet their financial goals.”

Meeting customer goals means providing banking on their terms, says Sheldon. Bank of America maintains the branch system for those who still want to go there, while offering technology and digital access for those preferring it.

Sheldon says among the top issues facing the state are affordable housing and childcare. When it comes to these issues, Bank of America can be part of the solution through philanthropy and volunteerism. Bank of America provided almost $1 million in philanthropy and 4,000 hours of volunteer time in NH in 2023.

Addressing the changing demographics in the state, Bank of America’s financial literacy program, Better Money Habits, is available in Spanish and financial center managers in Manchester and Nashua are Spanish speakers. To help with the impacts of the workforce shortage and promote economic stability, “The minimum wage is at $23 an hour now for associates and going to $25 by 2025,” says Sheldon. “We’re trying to lift the lower end of our employee scale to make sure that everybody has a livable wage.”
