Wash Your Hands!

You've seen them. The guy who leaves the bathroom without washing his hands. Or the woman who wipes her nose before shaking someone's hand. Worse yet, maybe you didn't see them, but you found their germs.

As concerns grow about the spread of MRSA (staph infection), influenza and other infectious diseases, NH's hospitals are joining forces to get people to clean up their act. High Five for a Healthy NH is a new campaign to educate people about washing their hands, making NH the first state to adopt a hand hygiene initiative in which every hospital and ambulatory surgery center is participating.

Organized by the NH Health Care Quality Assurance Commission, and with staff support from the Foundation for Healthy Communities, the initiative is aimed at reminding health care workers to always have clean hands.
