Rob Schultz has been appointed as the new director of development and the new manager of Leadership Upper Valley and Community Discussion Lists at Vital Communities, a White River Junction-based nonprofit. Schultz was previously the area director of the Upper Valley Region for Granite United Way. He has more than three decades of nonprofit leadership and development experience, including a position as executive director at COVER Home Repair in White River Junction, where he served for a decade.

“Vital Communities and Leadership Upper Valley create the space for some of the most important conversations and community organizing in the Upper Valley,” Schultz says. “This work gives voice to my passion for leadership development, my commitment to the Upper Valley as a great place to live and work, and my dedication to helping neighbors participate in the civic life of our community. I'm delighted to be joining the Vital Communities team.”

Early Jan. 2018, Schultz joined Vital Communities to manage the Leadership Upper Valley program, which aims to build participants’ understanding of the region’s issues, opportunities, and resources, expanding their networks and inspiring them to find new ways to serve their communities. In addition to Schultz’s role with the Leadership Upper Valley program, he will also lead fundraising efforts for Vital Communities as director of development.

“We are so fortunate to welcome Rob to our team as Manager of Leadership Upper Valley. His deep commitment to the Upper Valley, his skill as an educator and connector, and his passion for truly living the mission of Vital Communities offer incredible value to both the program and the entire organization,” says Vital Communities Executive Director Tom Roberts.

Leadership Upper Valley is currently accepting applications for the Class of 2019. More information is available at www.VitalCommunities.org/LeadershipUpperValley .
