St. Mary’s Bank Charitable Foundation in Manchester has awarded $5,338 to Stepping Stones, Greater Nashua’s only drop-in center for homeless, unaccompanied youth aged 25 and under. The grant award will enable Stepping Stones to provide two youths with six months of services, some of which will include food, clothing, and access to a shower and laundry.

Forbes released its third annual list of America’s Top Financial Security Professionals and has named Joseph Guyton, Owner of The Guyton Group, and Andrew Guyton, Founder of Forge Financial, as two of the top four financial security professionals in NH. The list honors financial security professionals in each state who have proven track records of preserving their clients’ wealth over the long term. Joseph and Andrew are the father-son team at the helm of Portsmouth-based Guyton/Forge.

Enterprise Bank has purchased $25,000 in tax credits to benefit the NH New Americans Loan Fund Tax Credit program through the Regional Economic Development Center (REDC) in Raymond. REDC’s Tax Credit Award, from NH's Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA), allows NH businesses to contribute funds to community development projects. Enterprise Bank’s tax credit donation will support REDC’s NH New Americans Loan Fund, which provides access to technical assistance and loans to first-generation Americans who are prospective or current business owners throughout the state. This is Enterprise Bank’s second contribution to the Fund within a year, making their overall $75,000 donation the largest received in this tax credit cycle.

Bangor Savings Bank’s parent company (Bangor Bancorp, MHC) formed a joint venture company, IncumbentFI, which will provide programmable payments technology to bank cardholders. Known as the ‘Fintech Switch,’ IncumbentFI’s payments technology will allow customers to link various payment sources (such as checking accounts, lines of credit, rewards points, HSAs, etc.) to one card. The Fintech Switch technology was originally developed to support BSB’s community rewards program, Buoy Local, which allows BSB customers to collect and use their Buoy Local rewards to fund purchases from their debt card.

The Brook, a charity casino in Seabrook, donated $3.7 million to NH charities in the first half of 2023. Since 2019, the casino has distributed nearly $12 million to local organizations in need.

The U.S. Army New England Recruiting Battalion appointed Lt. Col Diontanese Y. Monroe as Commander to the Kittery, Maine headquarters located on the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. She is directly involved in conducting recruitment operations.
