Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) in Concord appointed Jay Stewart to its board of directors after serving as a corporator for the past 18 years. Stewart served as president of Capital Offset in Concord until 2013 when the company merged with Puritan Press of Hollis. Now known as Puritan Capital, Stewart is VP and co-owner of the firm.

North Branch Construction in Concord recently completed construction of Red Oak at 409 Elm St. in Manchester. The mixed-use development includes 90 market rate studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartment homes, the corporate headquarters of Red Oak Apartment Homes, and co-working office spaces.

The NH Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) recently awarded $4.5 million in tax credits to projects throughout NH. Projects receiving tax credits provide increased access to critical services, housing and quality, affordable childcare; revitalize downtowns and historic structures in rural communities; and support community economic development efforts. Five grants were made to Manchester area nonprofits including the $150,000 to the SEE Science Center to create a new exhibit area that will be integrated with SEE’s iconic LEGO Millyard. The new exhibit area will be called the Millyard Design Zone that challenges visitors to explore science stories in the City of Manchester, past, present and future.

NH Electric Cooperative in Plymouth appointed three new leaders to the company’s senior management team. It appointed Peter Glenshaw as VP of member engagement. For the past nine years, Glenshaw served as the VP for external affairs at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. Sonja Gonzalez was named VP of IT/chief information officer. She previously served as chief information officer for the City of Rochester. Kristen Taylor has been named as CFO/VP of financial services. Taylor joined the NHEC Finance team in 2018, became the manager of financial services in 2020, and has been serving as the interim CFO since December 2022.

Shaheen & Gordon, P.A. hired Attorney Julianne Plourde to the firm’s family law group in Concord. Plourde is a recent graduate of the University of NH’s Daniel Webster Scholar Honors Program. Plourde completed Domestic Violence Emergency (DOVE) training and has experience representing clients through the DOVE project. She also completed training in collaborative divorce, an out-of-court divorce process that relies on negotiation.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) has awarded Liberty NH in Londonderry with the EEI Emergency Response Award for recovery efforts associated with Winter Storm Elliott, a high wind and heavy rainstorm that left thousands of Granite Staters without power just two days before the Christmas holiday. Liberty responded to more than 200 incidents that left nearly 9,000 Liberty customers without power.

Jan Sorrentino, a licensed enrolled agent at Maloney & Kennedy, PLLC, Certified Public Accountants in Auburn, was elected president of the Northern New England Society of Enrolled Agents. She previously served as the Society’s VP for the last two years.

Service Credit Union in Portsmouth opened a new branch in Epping,  located at 5 Fresh River Road.
