The Berry Companies in North Conway named Bernie Woolums as VP of facilities and construction. He will lead the maintenance and construction teams at Attitash Mountain Village and Eastern Slope Inn resorts. Prior to joining the Berry Companies, Woolums served as facilities manager for Downstreet Housing and Community Development, a Vermont-based company with a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties.

The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce held its 20th Annual Eminence Awards on  May 24, awarding: Richard Lannan, president of The Lannan Company, as Business Leader of the Year; Nashua Community College as Business of the Year; SkyTerra Technologies as Small Business of the Year; CASA of NH as Nonprofit of the Year; Kameo Chasse, manager of volunteer services at Southern NH Health, as Young Professional of the Year; Amber Morgan, owner of Fortin Gage Flower & Gift Shop, as Community Volunteer of the Year; and Jane Goggin, community outreach coordinator for Altrix Primary Care, as Chamber Champion.

Modern Healthcare has named Dartmouth Health CEO and president Joanne M. Conroy, MD, to the 2023 list of the magazine’s 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives. Conroy is ranked among the likes of Nworah Ayogu, MD, general manager and chief medical officer of Amazon Clinic, and Gianrico Farrugia, MD, CEO and president of the Mayo Clinic.

Easterseals NH, VT & Farnum in Manchester promoted Kelly Wood to senior VP and controller and Amy Joslin to senior VP, praxtice management. The organizations also and hired Kristen McGuigan as senior VP, early childhood services, and Bruce Bacon as senior VP, human resources.

Colliers, a commercial real estate services firm in Manchester, brokered the sale of Mill Plaza in Durham to Torrington Properties, a New England-based real estate investment, development and management firm. The sale price was $8.8 million. Abigail Bachman and David Choate, of Colliers’ Portsmouth office, represented the seller, Colonial Durham Associates, L.P. Sean McCauley of McCauley Realty Advisors of Wayne, PA served as the seller’s real estate advisor. Mill Plaza shopping center is comprised of two buildings totaling 53,283 square feet on 10.66 acres. Anchoring the plaza are Hannaford Supermarket and Rite Aid.

Thomas Quarles, Jr., a shareholder at Devine Millimet in Manchester who has been a litigator at the firm for more than 35 years, was named the 2023 recipient of the NH Bar Association’s Distinguished Service to the Profession award.

Aquarion Water Company named as winners of the 10th annual Aquarion Environmental Champion Awards: Business category - Hypertherm Associates in Hanover, which aims to achieve ambitious environmental goals by 2030, including reducing resource consumption, becoming carbon neutral, and halving the carbon impact of their products. They have implemented a Return-to-Recycle Pilot Program and purchased Green-e Certified renewable energy certificates to offset energy use, planning to offset 100% of their global energy usage by 2024.  Nonprofit Organization – NH LAKES in Concord, which is committed to restoring and preserving New Hampshire's lakes, addressing threats from aquatic invasive species and polluted water runoff. For over 20 years, NH LAKES has run the Lake Host Program, educating boaters on preventing the spread of invasive species. Additionally, the LakeSmart Lake-Friendly Living Program teaches property owners how to prevent polluted water runoff. Sarah Slater-Sosa, an environmental leader and educator at White Mountains Regional High School, was named the adult winner and Jacob McDaniel, a student from Bow High School, was named the student winner. The winners from the business, nonporift, and adult categories were each awarded a $5,000 grant to donate to the environmental nonprofit of their choice. The winner of the Student category received a $1,000 award.

Littleton Regional Healthcare became the first NH hospital to introduce Acclarent’s TruDi 3D Sinus Navigation System, which includes 3D visualization, real-time feedback, and updates over a patient’s CT imaging. Approximately one in eight adults suffer from sinusitis. Balloon sinuplasty is a minimally invasive procedure in which an atraumatic wire is threaded into the natural drainage passageway of the target sinus. This technology allows navigated balloon sinuplasty surgery for sinusitis patients.

Elliot Hospital has completed its first surgery using a newly installed hybrid operating room (OR). A hybrid operating room is a surgical theater that is equipped with video, monitoring and advanced medical imaging devices that are fully integrated and collaborative with each other. These devices allow for safer surgical approaches with better visualization, as well as an expansion of the services and types of procedures The Elliot can provide.
