St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester committed $25,000 to FrontLinesNH.org’s Challenge Match, a collaborative effort between Catholic Medical Center, Elliot Hospital, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, and St. Joseph Hospital to share resources and talent and to collaborate on preparations for the expected COVID-19 surge.

The board of directors of The Foundation for NH Community Colleges added three new members: Michelle Arruda, a shareholder at the law firm Devine Millimet; Judith Burrows, who retired after serving as NH Charitable Foundation director of student aid since 1987; and Kathleen Cook grant manager for the Norwin S. & Elizabeth N. Bean Foundation.

Savings Bank of Walpole in Keene was recognized, once again, by the NH Housing Finance Authority as an Outstanding Participating Originator for 2019 for its efforts in helping homebuyers statewide find affordable homes and loans.

The Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon will continue The Prouty’s 39-year tradition of raising funds for cancer research and patient services by moving the event online. Virtual Prouty participants can bike, walk, row, golf or do any other event from the comfort of home or the safety of the outdoors between June 1 and July 11.

Businesses are stepping up to help the NH Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, during a period of increased demand caused by the Covid-19 crisis. Two businesses helping out are:

  • Ink Factory Clothing Co. of Claremont is producing a special line of T-shirts to highlight essential employees—and will donate $4 for every T-shirt sold to the NH Food Bank. The T-shirts feature a silhouette of NH with #Essential stamped on the back and a company logo on the front.
  • Bank of New Hampshire presented the NH Food Bank with a $10,000 donation. These funds will be used to provide 20,000 meals to the one in nine men, women, and children in NH who are food insecure during this difficult time.
