In the Spotlight: Eckman Construction of Bedford, NH was recently honored by The Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT chapter. The construction firm received an Excellence in Construction Award in the category of Institutional Projects valued at $10million + for their work at the New Hampshire Army National Guard’s Regional Training Institute (RTI) and Barracks Facility in Pembroke, NH. The multi-building campus was also awarded with a  Sustainable Building Award. “Eckman took over the RTI project from another general contractor after their contract had been terminated, and that presented a number of challenges,” says Preston Hunter, Vice President, Eckman Construction. “This award is a testament to the teamwork displayed by the architect, Oak Point Associates, personnel from both the State of NH and the Army National Guard as well as Eckman staff to develop and implement solutions that would work to get this project back on track.”

Sealite USA, LLC., American manufacturer of Sealite and Avlite products recently announced the appointment of Jason Larrere as the U.S. sales manager. Larrerre, a former helicopter tour pilot, will be responsible for managing Sealite’s U.S. sales team. “Jason has a demonstrated ability to manage resources within a geographic territory. His results-driven performance record makes him the ideal candidate to understand the requirements of our customers and how the sales team can best serve their aids to navigation needs,” says Tara Stewart, Sealite USA President.

Doug Dean, CEO of Elliot Health System recently announced the appointment of Martha Leighton, MS RN as Elliot Health’s new senior vice president and chief nursing officer. An Elliot employee for more than 22 years, Leighton has her Master’s in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire. “As our Chief Nursing Officer, Martha will share her knowledge, skill and experience with clinical teams throughout the health system while mentoring the nurses who are just beginning their careers”, says Dean. “Martha’s energy and enthusiasm for nursing is evident as she inspires her teams to deliver high quality and compassionate care while focusing on positive patient experiences.  She is a natural leader and very committed to the highest level of nursing practice.”

Raymond construction company, Jewett Construction has been contracted by the Center for Wildlife in York, ME to build a new 16,000 square foot wildlife medical clinic and visitor center. The project’s aim is to provide adequate space for environmental education, wildlife rehabilitation, and conservation education. The wildlife center’s construction is contingent upon capital campaign efforts.

Crotched Mountain Foundation recently welcomed three new members to its board. The organization brought on Raymond Benoit, Henry Veilleux, and Darcy Mitchell to the Crotched Mountain Foundation board of directors. The directors also serve as trustees and hold governance authority over the organization.
