In the spotlight: Dr. Frederick W. McKinney, director of the Minority Business Programs at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, recently received the 2017 Ronald H. Brown Leadership Award from The U.S. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). The award is inspired by the outstanding leadership of the late U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Ronald H. Brown. “It is with humility and a great sense of pride that I accept this award on behalf of minority businesses and those who support the inclusion of minority businesses in the American economy,” McKinney says.

Cobb Hill Construction recently announced the welcoming of Jordan Temple as the company’s new safety officer. Temple is a graduate of Keene State College, who majored in safety management. Granite Recovery Centers, New Hampshire’s largest substance abuse treatment provider, officially launched on Oct. 26 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, that included local officials and the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce. The 30,000 square foot headquarters facility houses administrative offices as well as the Pritts Recovery Center, which is a community space named after 12-step pioneer, Don Pritts, that will host an array of events from recovery meetings to family support groups.

The New Hampshire Stroke Collaborative was recently awarded the American Stroke Association’s 2017 Community Conscience Award at the twelfth annual Summit of the Northeast Cerebrovascular Consortium (NECC). The award is annually presented to an individual or group, who advocates for policy change supported by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to improve stroke systems of care, including prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for stroke patients within the Northeast region.
