This Week’s Spotlight: Franklin Savings Bank donated $20,500 to four community organizations through the bank’s Fund for Community Advancement, which has provided 188 awards totaling $898,000 since 1997. Grants included $7,5000 for Child & Family Services of NH; $3,000 for Franklin Outing Club; $5,000 for Grafton County Senior Citizens Council; and $5,000 for Pemi Youth Center’s Franklin location.

Families First Health & Support Center in Portsmouth received $2,500 from the Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund toward the Dental Patient Assistance Fund at Families First. The community health center uses this fund to help patients with very low incomes pay for restorative care and dentures, as well as to help pregnant women and people with diabetes pay for preventive (hygiene) dental care.

The Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains in Bedford received $5,000 grant from Citizens Bank in Manchester. The money will fund financial literacy programs for at-risk and underserved girls in urban regions of NH and Vermont, including Concord, Manchester and Nashua.

Holy Rosary Credit Union installed a HRCU Live at its Dover branch, a new interactive teller machine system open to the public at the drive-up of their newly renovated Dover branch. The machine allows most banking transactions to be done remotely through video chat with a teller in HRCU’s member support center.

NH Mutual Bancorp donated $2,400 to the NH Women’s Foundation in Concord on Equal Pay Day. Because the average NH woman earned $0.76 compared to her male colleague’s dollar last year, the $2,400 donation represents this $0.24 difference.

Proulx Oil & Propane in Newmarket hired Kevin Wood as sales/account manager. This position focuses on sales of liquid products, oil and propane, to all new construction projects, builders and developers, as well as to all residential and commercial consumer accounts throughout NH, Southern Maine and North Shore Massachusetts.

Rath, Young and Pignatelli in Concord hired Ingrid White as an attorney of counsel to the firm’s Financial Institutions and the Business and Finance Practice Groups. She was previously NH’s Deputy Bank Commissioner and previously served as General Counsel to the NH Banking Department.

Santo Insurance & Financial Services in Salem hired Sheila Foster as an agent. Foster has worked in the insurance industry since 1990, most recently working for Briggs Insurance Agency in Massachusetts.
