This Week’s Spotlight: Mid-State Health Center, which has offices in Plymouth and Bristol, hired Claire H. Reed as chief medical officer. A family medicine practitioner with over 30 years of experience in primary care, Reed previously worked as medical director of Bridge Community Health Clinic in Wisconsin. She succeeds Frederick Kelsey, a founder of Mid-State who is retiring after more than 35 years with the organization. Mid-State offers medical services, dental services, behavioral health counseling and care management for all age groups.

Calypso Communications in Portsmouth, an integrated creative and PR agency, promoted Marc Checket to associate art director. Checket has worked as a graphic designer at Calypso since 2014.

Miklos Toth and Carol Jaworski, previous owners of Community Living for the Elderly LLC in West Ossipee, sold the 15-bed residential care facility to Tamworth Community Living, Inc. The transaction was brokered by New Hampshire Business Sales in Pembroke, with financing provided by Wells Fargo.

ConvenientMD Urgent Care will open headquartered in Portsmouth with locations in Bedford, Concord, Dover, Exeter, Keene, Merrimack, Nashua, and Windham, changed it clinic hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. The organization’s ninth facility will be opening in early September at 599 Lafayette Rd. in Portsmouth.

Lake Sunapee Bank in Newport donated $5,000 to Hope for New Hampshire Recovery in Manchester, a nonprofit which provides addiction support services. The donation will support community outreach and education efforts, as well as free recovery coaching.

Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) appointed Elise Cushing as a business development officer in its Laconia office. Cushing has worked for MSVB since 2010, previously serving as branch services manager at its Ashland office.

NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire in Manchester, a nonprofit which provides home development and ownership services to low-income individuals, received a $10,000 from the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation. The grant will support the seminars and services of HOMEteam, a collaboration between NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire, CATCH Neighborhood Housing in Concord and Laconia Area Community Land Trust.

NEMO Equipment Inc. in Dover, an outdoor gear manufacturer, hired Mike Welch as North American sales director. Prior to NEMO, Welch worked in sales at several outdoor industry companies, including Mountain Hardwear,  Karhu and Line skis.

Construction is underway on a new, 12,000 sq. ft. NH Liquor & Wine Outlet in Pembroke, scheduled to open in September at 619 Sand Pond Road in the Pembroke Crossing Plaza.

Plymouth State University hired Jason Moran as dean of enrollment management. Moran has more than a decade of experience in higher education admissions, most recently working as director of admissions of Lycoming College in Pennsylvania.

The Way Home in Manchester, a nonprofit which helps low-income households obtain affordable housing, received a $2,500 grant from the Diocese of Manchester’s Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund. The grant will support programs related to financial literacy and skill building classes for homeless and at-risk families, and help connect them to community resources.

Wheelabrator Technologies in Portsmouth relocated its U.S. corporate headquarters to Pease International Tradeport. Wheelabraor, which employees about 100 full-time workers, is the second largest U.S. provider of clean energy converted from residential and business waste.
