The Leddy Group, a firm specializing in staffing solutions and business resource consulting services in Dover, celebrates the one year anniversary of their Keene office.

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord hired Tiffany M. Nardino as its educational coordinator for programs. The Discovery Center is a new nonprofit entity as of January 1, 2013, ending its long affiliation with the State of New Hampshire.

In Concord, the University of New Hampshire School of Law Board of Trustees voted to fully integrate the law school with the University of New Hampshire. This action would be an incremental step, capping off an affiliation with the university that began in 2010, when the former Franklin Pierce Law Center changed its name to UNH Law.

The Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire, located in Durham, invites businesses to submit corporate consulting projects to be completed by graduating MBA students. Student teams will work 40 hours a week on the projects for five weeks during May and June 2013. Since 2003, 287 students have completed 163 projects with more than 86 companies.

Four Concord Merrimack County Savings Bank employees completed specialized banking education programs: Stephanie Andruss, Sara Lauze, and Jessica Szacik completed the Northern New England School of Banking Program, sponsored by the NH Bankers Association in Concord. Michael Cate completed a program offered by the New England Automated Clearing House Association based in Mass.

Citizens Bank New Hampshire of Keene and WMUR-TV of Manchester named the Hannah Grimes Center of Keene as their first 2013 Champion in Action in the category of strengthening communities. The Center will receive a $35,000 grant from the Citizens Bank Foundation, media coverage, and extensive promotional and volunteer support over the next six months.

Joel Rozen joined the board of directors of Breathe New Hampshire in Manchester. A CPA with the accounting firm of Baker Newman and Noyes in Manchester, Rozen has been serving on the Breathe NH Finance Committee since December 2009.

In partnership with Southern Wine & Spirits of Concord and Diageo, the New Hampshire Liquor Commission of Concord raised $11,500 for Moore*Mart Charity of Nashua, an organization that supplies deployed military personnel with care packages containing food, hygiene products and entertainment items.

The Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce in Laconia recognized community businesses for outstanding awards at their 94th Annual Membership & Business Economic Improvement Awards held in January at The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington announced that Scott Walker and his company Premiere Real Estate, LLC in Corcord have agreeded to pay $9,000 to settle allegations that they refused to rent to families with children in violation of the Fair Housing Act. Under the terms of the Consent Order, Walker and the real estate company paid $5,000 to the government for civil penalty, $3,000 to the single mother, and $1,000 to three other victims.

In Manchester, Mathnasium, a nationwide math-only learning center for children from elementary through high school, opened its first location in New Hampshire in the North Side Plaza on Hamel Drive in Manchester.

Manchester-based law firm McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, P.A. announced that attorney John Weaver was named to the Manchester Union Leader''s annual 40 Under Forty list for 2013.

Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas in conjunction with the Manchester Economic Development Office will host the 3rd Annual Manchester Small Business Week presented by Citizens Bank beginning Monday, May 20th through Friday, May 24th.  This week long event will feature programs and events targeted at providing small business owners with the information, resources, and tools needed to be successful.
