The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College in Hanover partnered with the Ministry of Health in Rwanda on a Rwanda Human Resources for Heath program. The Geisel School is one of seven US medical schools participating in the seven-year program, which sends full-time faculty members to three hospitals in Rwanda to provide teaching, research, and mentorship to increase the number of faculty available to train future physicians and improve the country's health care. The HRH program is financed by grants from the US government and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Participating in the first year of the program from the Geisel School are: Lisa Adams, assistant professor of medicine; Laura Shevy, hospitalist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon; Heather Robertson, former pediatrics chief resident at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center; Nick Perencevich, adjunct professor of surgery and former staff physician at Concord Hospital in Concord; and Dorey Glenn, recent residency graduate of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

The Community Development Finance Authority in Concord awarded more than $5.4 million to sixteen organizations through the CDFA Tax Credit Program. The awards included: $700,000 to renovate the Boys & Girls Club in Concord, $300,000 to rebuild the Friendly Kitchen in Concord, $125,000 to upgrade the Red River Theatre in Concord to a digital projection system, $1 million for converting an abandoned mill in Nashua to mixed-used housing, $300,000 to bring broadband internet to underserved communities in southwestern NH, and $200,000 for the development of a business incubator in Plymouth.

Jewett Automotive Design & Construction in Raymond broke ground on the renovation of Al's Automotive Service Center in Exeter. The project includes the construction of new office space, service bays, storage areas, and tenant space and the installation of aluminum storefront glass, acoustic ceiling systems, and an EPDM roof.

Bradley Field joined Lindner Dental Associates in Bedford. Field recently earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Calif. and completed specialty training in treatment of dental facial injuries, individuals with special healthcare needs, and patients under anesthesia at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine at Children's Hospital in Boston.

Christina Mukankaka, credit analyst at Federal Savings Bank in Dover, was elected to the board of directors of the Dover Adult Learning Center of Strafford County. The center is an organization that helps adults enhance their life-coping skills through education and job training.

Ledyard National Bank in Lebanon partnered with Upper Valley SCORE in Lebanon on the nonprofit's Small Business Workshop Series for the fourth consecutive year. SCORE is dedicated to helping small business grow and succeed through low-cost educational workshops and mentorship.

The University of NH School of Law in Concord appointed Ed Dupont and Lew Feldstein to its board of trustees. Dupont is president and founder of The Dupont Group in Concord and recently stepped down as chairman of the University System of NH board of trustees. He is also a director of venture capital firm Merchantbanc in Manchester. Feldstein served for 24 years as the CEO and president of the NH Charitable Foundation in Concord and prior to that as provost of Antioch University New England in Keene.

Marketing agency R.C. Brayshaw & Company was named NH's 2012 Green Business of the Year by the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development in Concord. The presentation of the award and a Citation of Congratulations from Governor John Lynch took place at Greenerpalooza, an annual event held at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Gilford. R.C. Brayshaw, which has three locations in Warner and West Lebanon, was recognized for their outstanding degree of eco-consciousness, including their efficiency at managing materials and limiting landfill waste.

Nanocomp Technologies, Inc. opened its new headquarters and Advanced Manufacturing Center in Merrimack. The company expects to add more than 50 manufacturing, sales, marketing, and technical positions at both its new headquarters and its technology research center in Concord. The 100,000-square-feet facility was based in part on investments from the Defense Production Act Title III of the US Department of Defense.

Leadership NH appointed several new members to its board of trustees: Byron Champlin, assistant VP and program officer for Lincoln Financial Foundation in Concord and a 1999 LNH graduate; Jessica Levine, town manager of Bedford and a 2011 LNH graduate, Leesa Smith, president/regional representative North America at Freudenberg North America LP in Manchester and a 1995 LNH graduate; and Edith Tucker, reporter for the Coos County Democrat in Lancaster and a 1999 graduate of LNH. LNH is a nonprofit organization that educates and builds a network of engaged leaders for the state through a year-long educational program and is based in Manchester.
