Cadec Global in Manchester launched PowerVue Enterprise Edition, a new version of its fleet management system that includes touch screen forms, enhanced scoreboard capabilities to graphically chart driver and vehicle performance, and enhanced mapping capabilities.

 

 

Honors & Awards

 

The American Council of Engineering Companies of NH in Concord named McFarland Johnson in Concord its overall winner of the 2012 Engineering Excellence awards. McFarland Johnson was honored for the recently completed Manchester Boston Regional Airport Access Road. Other winners included: H.E. Bergeron Engineers Inc. of North Conway in the special projects category; McFarland Johnson in the studies, research and consulting category; DuBois & King Inc. of Bedford in the water resources category; Wright-Pierce of Portsmouth in the water and stormwater category; Nobis Engineering of Concord in the environmental category; Sanborn Head of Concord in the small projects category; and GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. of Manchester in the building/technology systems category.

 

The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response team (DHART) in Lebanon and its aviation provider, Metro Aviation Inc., received the 2012 Safety Award from the New England Helicopter Council.

 

Four Hanover businesses received 2012 Dartmouth Sustainability Awards from Sustainable Hanover, a program run through the town of Hanover, for their environmental efforts. They are Domus, a custom builder named small business of the year; Hypertherm, a manufacturer of metal cutting systems named large business of the year; and two commendations to Six South Street Hotel and the Hanover Consumer Cooperative.

 

Nigel Manley, director of North Country property for the Society for the Protection of NH Forests, was recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden for his work on the Joining Forces Campaign, a national initiative to honor and support service members and their families. Manley runs the Trees for Troops program, which has delivered more than 103,100 trees to military families since 2005.

 

Orr & Reno is moving to new energy-efficient offices at 43-45 South Main St. in Concord by the summer of 2013. Orr & Reno has been in its current offices in Concord for more than 25 years.

 

 

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, with numerous NH offices, donated $50,000 to the NH Food Bank in Manchester.

 

Lake Sunapee Bank in Newport was ranked in the top 200 community banks list by American Banker magazine. The list ranks institutions with less than $2 billion in assets and are either publicly traded or file with the Security and Exchange Commission.

 

Centrix Bank in Bedford ranked 97th on SNL Financial's annual list of the top 100 Best Performing Community Banks in the United States.

 

 

REAL ESTATE

 

Lakes Region Luxury Real Estate LLC opened an office at 3 Main St. in Meredith that will target the sale of high-end luxury homes in the Lakes Region.

 

 

HIGH TECH

 

GRT, a mobile field-data company based in Portsmouth, formed a core advisory and action team that includes: Lt. Gen. Keith J. Stalder, former commander for the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific; William R. Bumattre, former Los Angeles fire chief; Dr. Richard Hinrichs; and Joel Maiola, former chief of staff to U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg.

 

 

The University of NH Whittemore School of Business and Economics named high-tech investor and entrepreneur Matt Pierson as 2012 Holloway Entrepreneur of the Year. Pierson has been involved with numerous start-ups including DTC Communications, which he cofounded and sold to Cobham; and JitterJam in Bedford, which was acquired by Meltwater Group last year.

 

 

NONPROFIT

 

Monadnock Family Services in Keene received $80,000 from the NH Bureau of Behavioral Health to start a 24/7 emergency team to assist people with severe and persistent mental illness. The team consists of a nurse, case manager and psychiatrist.
