The NH Business Committee for the Arts in Concord named the winners of its 2012 Business in the Arts Awards, which recognize businesses that demonstrate outstanding support of the arts. TD Bank was honored for its support of the Currier Museum of Art exhibition Backstage Pass: Rock and Roll Photography among other statewide initiatives. The Provident Bank was honored for its Lobby for Arts exhibitions in bank facilities and its support of other Seacoast Area arts organizations, including the Seacoast Artists' Association, the NH Film Festival, The Music Hall and the American Independence Museum. Boothby Therapy Services in Laconia was honored for its support of the Winnipesauke Playhouse and for its incorporation of the arts into therapy projects. Heartwood Media in Manchester won for its annual program of creating a video for a NH nonprofit and for choosing the Concord Community Music School to support through the project. The Leadership Award was presented to Jamie Trowbridge of Dublin for his distinguished record of promoting and investing in the NH art community. Trowbridge holds board positions with The MacDowell Colony and the Arts Alive! organization.

Bottomline Technologies in Portsmouth appointed Jennifer M. Gray to its board of directors. Gray is the founder and CEO of Market Street Talent, a Portsmouth-based information technology consulting company serving clients in the U.S. and Canada.

Wright-Pierce, a water and infrastructure engineering firm in Portsmouth, earned an Engineering Excellence Award in the Water and Stormwater category from the American Council of Engineering Companies of NH for the design of a new water treatment facility in Rochester. The Engineering Excellence Awards program recognizes engineering projects that promote quality, innovation, and client satisfaction. The Rochester facility is one of the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified water treatment facilities in NH and will feature reduced life cycle costs, environmental impacts, and energy costs.

The NH Bar Association's Pro Bono Referral Program recognized the contributions of volunteer attorneys who provide free legal services to low income individuals and families. Last year, lawyers volunteering through the program provided a total of more than 18,000 hours in free legal services. Pamela A. Peterson of Devine, Millimet & Branch in Manchester received Pro Bono's highest honor, the L. Jonathan Ross Award for Outstanding Commitment to Legal Service for the Poor. The association also recognized several attorneys with Distinguished Pro Bono Service Awards: Gail Bakis of Harvey & Mahoney in Portsmouth; Lori A. Chandler of Wescott, Dyer, Fitzgerald & Nichols in Laconia; Martin K. Glennon of Glennon Law Office in Manchester; Dahar Professional Association of Manchester; Robert R. Howard of Howard & Urbaitis in Henniker; and Susan Hunt Lee of Melendy & Lee in Conway. The association also named three Rising Stars of Pro Bono Law in the state: Jessica L. Ecker of Donahue, Tucker & Ciandella in Portsmouth; Kelly Ovitt Puc of Cornell and Ovitt Puc in Concord; and Kirk C. Simoneau of Nixon, Vogelman, Barry, Slawsky and Simoneau in Manchester.

Urban Tree Service / A Tree Health Company, Inc. in Rochester held an Open House event to showcase its newly rebuilt facility. The event was held in conjunction with the Rochester Chamber of Commerce's monthly Business After-Hours function. The company moved into the facility, originally a barn and horse farm, in 1990. The newly-remodeled property features 3,000 square feet of office space and brings the total size of the entire facility to 10,000 square feet. Budel Construction of Rochester completed the project.

Nashua Capital Management, LLC in Nashua appointed Steven H. Reynolds as managing principal of the firm. Reynolds has more than 25 years of portfolio management and fiduciary experience, most recently serving as VP senior portfolio manager for TD Wealth's Private Investment Counsel Division.

Derry Medical Center in Derry announced its plan to open a third location for its group of independent family practice providers in Windham. The Windham office is expected to open in late summer and will include onsite laboratory services and x-ray, mammogram, and ultrasound services provided by Derry Imaging. The center will offer primary care, wellness, and urgent care at office co-pays. Derry Medical Center also runs a family practice center in Londonderry.

Ashley Davison, an associate with Nathan Wechsler & Company in Concord was elected to the board of the YWCA NH, located in Manchester. Davison's client responsibilities at Wechsler include nonprofit organizations and manufacturing companies.

The Business and Industry Association of NH in partnership with the NH Department of Environmental Services will present a full-day conference focused on air emissions regulation in the state on June 19th at the Center of NH in Manchester. The 2012 BIA / DES Air Conference will feature presentations from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the NH Department of Environmental Services, and several of the state's most prominent environmental consultants and lawyers. Session topics will include overviews of the NH air permitting process, the air toxics program, compliance assurance strategies, emerging state and federal issues ,and a discussion of new source review and greenhouse gas regulations.

The Greater Manchester/Nashua Board of REALTORS Community Service Committee raised $1,080 for The Salvation Army's Kids' Caf in Manchester at the inaugural Bunny Bowl held at Merrimack Ten Pin in Merrimack. Kids Caf was established in 1994 and provides structured recreational activities and encourages positive lifestyles for inner city youth.

Roland Morneau, a retired attorney formerly of Germaine & Blaszka in Derry, received the Distinguished Service to the Public Award from the NH Bar Association at its annual Midyear Meeting. James Noucas of Noucas Law Office in Portsmouth received the Vickie M. Bunnell Award for Community Service. Barbara Keshen of the NH Civil Liberties Union in Concord received the Outstanding Service in Public Sector / Public Interest Law Award.

The League of NH Craftsmen, based in Concord, honored five members who were profiled as Remarkable Women in Craft in New Hampshire Magazine. Those recognized were: Kathleen Dustin, Lulu Fichter, Jennifer Kalled, Patricia Palson, and Paulette Werger.

Mr. Appliance of Manchester was named a 2012 Military Friendly Franchise by G.I. Jobs Magazine. The magazine ranked Mr. Appliance in the top 10% of all franchises nationwide. The list was created three years ago and honors franchises that offer outstanding class programs and feature policies that support military veterans interested in franchise opportunities.

Kathy Sullivan was unanimously re-elected by the NH Democratic State Committee as the NH Democratic National Committeewoman for a second four year term. Sullivan is the managing partner at the law firm of Wadleigh, Starr & Peters, PLLC in Manchester. Sullivan served as chairwoman of the NH Democratic Party for eight years, ending her final term in 2008.
