The White Mountain National Forest received $4,046,814 in disaster relief funding to repair trails and roads damaged by Hurricane Irene. The funding was received through the U.S. Forest Service and the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads program, which helps agencies deal with the cost of repairing federally-owned roads damaged by natural disasters.

Baybutt Construction in Keene was awarded a $1.1 million contract to design and build an animal shelter for the town of Newton, Conn. The new facility will have 20 indoor and outdoor dog kennels, a cattery, training room, offices, and a waiting area. The project is scheduled to be completed this summer.

Five of NH's 10 Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs), members of the NH Community Behavioral Health Association, recently received a $25,000 grant from the Cogswell Benevolent Trust of Manchester to support the implementation of a shared Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Receiving centers included: Genesis Behavioral Health in Laconia, Seacoast Mental Health Care Center in Portsmouth, Greater Nashua Mental Health Center in Nashua, Monadnock Family Services in Keene, and Northern Human Services in Conway. Federal regulations require that all health care organizations implement an EHR system by 2015.

FairPoint Communications recognized its outstanding sales leaders at its annual company-wide sales gathering. Ten employees from NH were recognized for their customer service: Jim Doyle of Bedford, Diane Wall of Manchester, Kelly Powers of Hooksett, Taylor Scott of Hollis, Betsy VanDerWater-Fuller of Epping, Charles Marasco of Manchester, Tina Ferrante of Concord, John Herlihy of Thornton, Jeff Litchfield of Hopkinton and Ken Glander of Hooksett.

EnviroVantage in Epping announced several new appointments. Mike Rodgers, who has been with the company since 2010 was named senior estimator. New hire Ken Burkhart joins the company as an estimator. He has more than 25 years of experience in estimating, management, and construction.

McGowan Fine Art in Concord completed an installation of artwork for the new branch office and education center for St. Mary's Bank in Manchester. The project was coordinated and installed by Amanda McGowan Lacasse, the corporate art consultant with McGowan Fine Art.

St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua was granted another three-year term of accreditation in cardiac and general nuclear medicine by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). The IAC, through a panel of experts and a case study review, grants accreditation to facilities that provide quality patient care in compliance with national standards.

Cobb Hill Construction, Inc. in Concord was selected to renovate the Hudson offices of Dr. Anne Todd Orthodontics. The 1,600-square-foot renovation is expected to take 10 weeks and will upgrade the sterilization center, HVAC system, laboratory, and kitchen. The renovation will also create a new patient consultation room.

Cityside Management Corporation in Manchester donated $30,000 to Families in Transition (FIT), a Manchester and Concord-based homeless services provider. The donation was made as part of the company's commitment as the lead sponsor for FIT's annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration fundraiser. The donation will help fund the construction of a new family emergency shelter, meal program, and basic necessities for its participants.

The Endowment for Health, based in Concord, announced a total 2011 giving of more than $2.4 million in support of several health-related projects, with a focus on reducing economic and social barriers to health and on improving the mental health of the state's children and families.

Nannu Nobis, CEO of Nobis Engineering, Inc. in Concord, was selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the 2012 NH Small Business Person of the Year. Nobis was recognized for his leadership, dedication to the community, and innovative business solutions that contributed to both company and nationwide economic growth. Each year, the administration recognizes outstanding business owners for their success and contributions as part of National Small Business Week. He will receive an award at an event in May.

Fidelity Investments in Merrimack received the American Cancer Society's Pacesetter Award. The company was recognized for its $10,500 donation made during this year's Daffodil Days campaign, consisting of contributions from 385 employees. The Merrimack location of the company has supported the campaign for more than a decade and has raised more than $135,000 since 2001, making Fidelity its top corporate employer funder for 11 years in a row.

Altos Marketing in Bedford named Kathy Sevigny director of client development. Sevigny most recently worked for Chicago-based General Growth Properties where she was responsible for managing national marketing campaigns and corporate partnerships.
