Strategic Planning Focus of Family Business Event

Published Tuesday Nov 18, 2008

Strategic planning for family businesses is the focus of the next University of New Hampshire Center for Family Business event Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008.

Daniel Innis, dean of the UNH Whittemore School of Business and Economics, will present the workshop. The event begins at 8 a.m. at New Hampshire Distributors, 65 Regional Drive, Concord, with a continental breakfast. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and lunch will follow.

If the reason your company does not have a strategic plan is because you think strategic planning is not for family businesses - it is not for small firms, it is too constraining, it is just an academic exercise, or it is not needed - this program is for you. Many firms view the planning process to be as important as the final plan. This hands-on session will explore the process, steps and benefits of strategic planning for family-owned businesses, said Barbara Draper, director of the Center for Family Business.

To register or become a member of the Center for Family Business, call Barbara Draper at 603-862-1107 or e-mail her at barbara.draper@unh.edu. The event is free for Center for Family Business members. The cost is $99 per person and $250 per family for non-members.
