Boo hoo... you didn't win Megamillions. Get a grip. With no winner in this past Saturday’s drawing, the New Hampshire Powerball jackpot is expected to reach $430 million for Wednesday’s drawing, which would be the ninth largest jackpot in Powerball history. And the one-time cash payout is expected to increase to $273.4 million for Wednesday’s drawing. (Estimated jackpot amounts are before taxes).
“At $430 million, this is already the third time this year the New Hampshire Powerball jackpot has exceeded $400 million—and the second time in the last two months,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the NH Lottery. “When Powerball jackpots reach the $400 million threshold, the excitement really amps up and intensifies for our players and retailers. I can think of 430 million reasons to get your tickets now for Wednesday’s drawing—let’s have another big New Hampshire winner!”
The Powerball jackpot has been growing since June 10, when a California player claimed a $447.8 million jackpot.
New Hampshire has had 10 Powerball jackpot winners since Powerball launched in the Granite State 22 years ago. Just last summer, a NH player, who chose to remain anonymous, claimed a $487 million winning Powerball ticket sold at the Hannaford Supermarket in Raymond. The all-time record Powerball jackpot was a $1.6 billion (with a B) jackpot from January 2016.
Powerball drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11 p.m. Powerball tickets are on sale at more than 1,250 retailers statewide.
