Along with participation from additional strategic investors, the funds are being directed toward scaling the company’s Computer Vision AI technology to automate statistics, analytics and video highlights for sports, starting with basketball.

In addition to Hyperplane, SportsVisio’s round included participation from Geek Ventures, Sovereign's Capital and a number of strategic investors/groups.

John Murphy, founder and managing partner at Hyperplane shares that “with the advances in edge devices over the past several years, we've seen a dramatic decrease in the cost to deploy computer vision applications at scale. We're excited that SportsVisio is able to leverage this to bring sophisticated, professional quality stat tracking to amateur leagues at a price point that makes sense."

SportsVisio’s team has now grown to over 20 members and will launch with customers this fall.

SportsVisio founder“Athletes, coaches and fans at all levels want insights about player and team performance, along with easily shareable content on social media,” says SportsVisio Founder and CEO Jason Syversen (pictured). “With our most recent raise, we can democratize access by using AI to automatically generate stats and highlights for underserved players; basketball is just the start.”

SportsVisio’s AI captures statistics and repostable highlights from real-time game footage, automating the labor associated with keeping manual stats for games and editing clips and top plays afterwards.
