Reinventing Education

Published Tuesday Aug 7, 2012

While people agree, overall, that higher education is an important element to a strong economy, there is no lack of debate over how well higher education is meeting the needs of the state, what needs to be done to improve the delivery and outcomes of higher education, who should foot the bill, or what the ultimate goal of a college education should be.

So we asked some key business, political and education leaders to submit essays addressing what they would do if they could  reinvent higher education in NH, explaining what they see as the biggest challenge facing higher education and what they would like to see done about it. Outside of a 300-word limit, we did not give them any other guidance about what to write.

What we received back were thoughtful missives on a variety of topics surrounding higher education. We will run a different essay each day for the next two weeks.
