Portsmouth-Based Software Company Continues Expansion

Published Tuesday Apr 14, 2015

Loftware, Inc., a barcode labeling software firm for nearly 30 years, is on a growth spree. The company, which boasts 5,000 customers in over 100 countries, has also doubled its workforce since moving to New Hampshire several years ago. Now, the company says it will relocate to a newly constructed state-of-the-art facility within the Pease Tradeport that offers numerous Green Building features.

“We felt it was very important to stay in the Pease Tradeport in Portsmouth and knew that we need a much larger and more innovative space to meet the needs of the business, our customers and most importantly, our employees,” said Loftware President and CEO Robert O’Connor. “Our new corporate home will further foster employee interaction, collaboration and innovation, as we continue to extend our reach globally over the coming years."

The company plans move into 249 Corporate Drive this August. The 37,000-square-foot building, developed by The Katz Group, was designed to reflect how technology professionals work and interact. The new headquarters will offer an abundance of open space and 360-degree glass, that encourages interaction and engagement among workers. Features include a collection of highly configurable, multi-purpose meeting spaces (“The Quad") that reduces boundaries and inspires collaboration and creativity, many customer-oriented meeting rooms, as well as an expansive cafeteria with indoor and outdoor seating.

As winners of the first Annual commuteSMART Seacoast Challenge in 2014, Loftware’s  employees will be able to take advantage of the building’s features including ports for electric car charging, bicycle racks and a fitness center.

“Loftware’s commitment to fostering a comfortable and inviting work environment for its employees is truly commendable. We are excited to facilitate turning their vision into reality and are thrilled they have chosen 249 Corporate Drive as their new corporate headquarters,” said Eric Katz, president of The Katz Group.

Business NH Magazine recently recognized Loftware in its “Best Companies to Work for in NH” edition. Loftware was also recognized in the magazine’s “Top 100 Private Companies in NH” edition as one of the top two in the “software and technology category” for companies with sales up to $100 million.

“With their unending commitment to social consciousness, Loftware is a valued tenant in the Pease Tradeport and we are thrilled that they’ve decided to continue to grow their business here in Portsmouth. Their dedication to local causes including the Pease & Carrots Food Drive, the Pease Greeters Program, Toys for Tots and Operation Santa is unmatched,” said David Mullen, Pease Development Association executive director. “The team at Loftware is certainly one of the most socially conscious and philanthropic groups that we have ever seen and the community is fortunate to continue to benefit from their good will.”
