NH Tops Country in Firearms Jobs

While the Granite State only ranks 21st among states most dependent on the gun industry, it has more firearms industry jobs per capita than any other state. That’s per a recent report released by WalletHub.

Given the fact that the U.S. has had four mass shootings each week this year, gun control remains a hotly debated topic.

But gun sales are declining and are down 12.6% since 2021, according to WalletHub. Idaho, Wyoming, Kentucky, South Dakota and Montana are the top five states most dependent on the gun industry including both jobs in the industry and gun ownership rates.

The report also noted NH has the most firearms industry jobs per 10,000 residents at 73.42, which is 18 times higher than Hawaii, which has the fewest at 4.07. New Hampshire also has the highest total federal business taxes paid by the firearms industry per capita, $150.02, which is 50.7 times higher than in Delaware, which has lowest at $2.96.
