NH Tech Alliance Launches Leaders Program

The NH Tech Alliance (NHTA) is launching Ascending Leaders in Tech program that is designed to help leaders in the tech industry sharpen their skills, connect with other tech executives, and maximize their impact in the industry.

Ascending Leaders in Tech is a six-session course that is open to NH tech professionals in leadership positions or those who aspire to be in a leadership role. Participants will meet for six day-long sessions between September 2023 and May 2024. The course will focus on building diverse skills across relationship management, finance, resilience and wellness, the executive mindset, and leadership impact.

"Leadership is about more than just technical aptitude or business know-how; leaders need to develop the right mentality, relationship skills and resolve," says Julie Demers, executive director of the NHTA, "The Ascending Leaders in Tech program is designed to help tech professionals develop the skill set needed to be successful leaders in today's tech industry."

The program responds to the need for more leadership in the tech sector, which contributed $10.8 billion to the New Hampshire economy in 2021. "New Hampshire needs to continue building its pipeline of tech leaders to keep up with the rapid growth of our tech sector,” says Jeremy Hitchcock, founder of New North Ventures, former founder and CEO Dyn, and NHTA Board Member. “This program will develop future leaders to create a more robust and connected industry."

Throughout the course, participants will work with well-established, successful tech industry leaders who will share expertise and insights from their leadership journeys. By the end of the program, participants will have a built-in network of influential leaders across the state along with the tools and skills needed to take their leadership to the next level.

Emerging leaders interested in applying should satisfy the following criteria:

  • Must be a resident of NH or work for a company in NH;
  • Must be a technology professional with a minimum of  5 to 7 years of progressive experience in a tech role;
  • Must be a leader or aspiring leader who is eager to grow and learn personally and professionally.

The cost of the program is $2,000 for NHTA members, while non-NHTA members can participate for $2,800.
