NH Leads Nation in Highest Construction Employment

https://www.businessnhmagazine.com/UploadedFiles/Images/Construction-Article.jpgUnusually mild weather in much of the country, coupled with general improvement in the nation’s economy, led construction unemployment rates to drop between November 2014 and November 2015 nationally and in 37 states, according to analysis conducted by Bernard Markstein of Associated Builders and Contractors. New Hampshire led the nation with the lowest construction unemployment rate.

As of November, year-to-date seasonally adjusted employment in construction increased by 215,000 in the United States. In fact, year-over-year change in the national construction unemployment rate has fallen every month since October 2010.

The Top Six States
The six states with the lowest construction unemployment rates in November in order were:
1. NH
2. Colorado
3. Georgia and Virginia (tie)
5. Idaho and Maryland (tie)

Three states—Colorado, Idaho, and NH—were also among the top five in October. The unseasonably warm weather in the East helped NH rise to the top of the list with a 3.7 percent rate from fourth lowest in October, according to Markstein.
