When New Hampshire secretary of state Phillip Carrigain started working on NH's first official map in 1805, he didn’t intend to create a piece of history—he simply wanted a useful  tool for the new state. But the map, completed in 1816, turned out to be something special. At the time, 250 of the maps were printed and 25 are now available in libraries across the country. University of NH in Durham recently purchased a copy for its special collections and will be putting it on display. Read more about it here from UNH Today.
